Ballerina Cot Quilt Nursery Set

Hi girls, ever since joining fb I seem to be neglecting my blog so for those of you who don't have fb I thought I would show you what I have been working on. A complete cot quilt nursery set for a customer.

It consists of a Quilt, cushion, pillowcase, lamp, bumper and nappy stacker. Luckily I still had some of the pretty Henry Alexander ballerina fabric! Just click on the pics for a larger version.

I mailed them to her today so I hope she will be happy with them.
I really need to get into the garden for a few days now as with winter upon us everything is looking dead and messy.. and all my roses need pruning!

pretty Tilda quilt and new ebay store...

Hi girls, hope you've all been well. So I've been a little busy lately. Just finished off a quilt for a lovely customer of mine. I made a few things for her when she had her baby late last year but requested a single bed raggy quilt  in the same theme.

The majority of the fabric is by Tilda and a few others thrown in that compliment.

And...I've opened an ebay store. "Shabby French & Vintage"
I had one a few years ago and feel that now is the time to get into it again.
In my new store you will find exactly that, shabby pretty romantic things.. and things for little girls as well,
all things french provincial and french country and also one of a kind vintage finds that I come across. Ofcourse you will find my hand made soft furnishings and small pieces of  furniture.
So just click on my shop on my sidebar if you would like to have a peek...

and here are a few things I've just listed..

It's basically a bit of everything I love!

some lamps and some sweet roses too...

Hi girls, gee time flies!  Well apart from finishing the ceiling light and a bedside table lamp for a customer for her soon to be newborn baby girl....

ceiling light

\
bedside lamp with pink crystal hearts and clay roses.. both to match the bedding I showed you in my previous post.

I am still concentrating on my garden and really making the most of the lovely autumn weather we've been having. Last week hubby and I finished our rockery but it's still quite messy as we had to install underground drainage pipes to solve our flooding problem at the front of the house. I'll show you pics soon of what we're up to...

but I thought I'd show you a few of the bare root roses I ordered online (about 15) and can't wait to get them in May or June..

pierre de ronsard

cloris

homere...this would have to be my favorite!

la france

lombarde

golden fairytale

home and garden

octavious weld

and while I was at it I thought I'd get some clematis, after watching an episode of Gardeners world where this lady had over 200 of them.. I got 5..can't wait to get these too!

I will be plenty busy planting these when I get this lot but it will give me something to look forward to in the winter months instead of just the cold weather and I really can't wait for it all to come alive come spring!!

more sewing.. tilda fabrics nursery set...

Here are some pics of what I've been sewing lately... a custom made order for some baby bedding.
Most of the fabrics we picked are by Tilda plus a few others mixed in.

                                                               patchwork heart cushion

train cushion, yes this is for a little girl as my lovely client (and hubby) wanted a few train accents in the room!

bought cot and cradle sheets to which I added some matching trim

craddle quilt

raggy ruffle cot quilt

this week I am working on a couple of lamps to finish it all off... will show pics when they're done..

I am really looking forward to next week. Hubby has a week off and we will be tackling the final stage of our rockery. We have already done one side and the front. We now need to do the side of the house that doesn't really get seen much, which is a shame as the garden is just lovely there with a winding path from front to back. We will be finishing that off too by adding crushed rock and hopefully if there is enough time we will be putting up something that I have wanted since forever! A GREENHOUSE!
So, I'll keep you posted on that too... can't wait!
take care girls... Maryann

tablecoth to cane basket covers..for a wedding..

Hi girls, well my niece is getting married in a couple of weeks and I happened to be at her mum's place the other day when she walks in. She'd just come back from spotlight with some lace and other bits and pieces.  I found out they were going to cover some cane baskets that will hold her church booklets and were also going to try to line a birdcage to use it as a wishing well.

I knew this might be a little tricky for them as they are not sewers, so I offered my help which they accepted gladly.

the lace I used is just a nylon tablecloth from the bargain barn $6! They used these at her kitchen tea which looked very pretty.

it was a little tricky because where the timber handles are I had to leave a split between the inside of the basket and the frill on the outside so it could go over.
I thought it would look nice to add some ribbon to cover the cane that were holding the timber sides. I actually covered two of these.

today I will be working on the birdcage..

this is the lace she purchased. Very pretty..

These past few days have been just lovely. Winter is nearly over and there is new life on the trees. I can feel spring in the air already..hooray!

If your wondering how I'm doing with my diet, all I can say is..who was i kidding!.. thinking I could lose 8 kg in 4 wks. The first week of my diet it was my hubbys birthday, my mum's birthday and my niece's kitchen tea! well that was well thought out wasn't it! Ok so I had some cake....maybe more.. Since then I've bought a couple of things that might help me reach my goal,  but it's definately going to take longer than I thought, but that's another post!

take care girls, Maryann
