I am having a chandy in my formal lounge, my bedroom and lisa's bedroom. I also have the cherub one over my dining table. I really need your help on this one. I was planning on putting 2 small chandys in the family room but since the ceilings aren't high I have opted for fancy white dome light fittings( when I find them). so I was thinking of putting the small chandeliers, one either side of the cherub one. That is, one will go in the kitchen and one will go in the other section of the dining room (where my buffet and hutch is) What do you think, do you think it would be too much and should they be matching?
Here is a pic of the one I'm talking about.. I have 2 of them and I'll be painting them white.
Now, just one thing please be HONEST, you don't have to be nice, I'm a big girl, I can handle it... lol.
One will go here, as you can see my dining room is fairly long and is separated by a beam.
and the other one will go here in the kitchen, so the cherub chandelier will be in the middle so to speak.
So what do you think? I'd love to hear any suggestions you might have, maybe I've missed something.
see ya all soon, Maryann
Hi Marion,
ReplyDeleteI understand your dilemma. When we were still building our extensions I went out and bought 3 chandeliers(they were on sale so I could'nt miss the op) and thought I would put 2 in the family room and 1 in my new bedroom.Suddenly I felt"oops ..have I gone too far with 2 chandys in the family room?" Now they are up and I absolutely love them and have put a big mirror up the end wall so they reflect even more.In the end it has to be what makes you happy and I dont think you have to match them ...it adds character.Your home is looking fantastic!

I think, by what I have seen of the rest of the house, that they would fit in really well. Go with your instinct.
ReplyDeleteHi Maryann,I think you should put the two chandeliers because your site is quite big .If you are painting white, that could create and armonic image white the other chandelier you have in te midlle of the room...don't worry about your familly, finally they will be happy with the result!!!!
ReplyDeleteBye and thanks for your visit to my blog...besos,Sole=)
hiya Maryann

Hi Maryann,
ReplyDeleteI really don't think you can have to many chandeliers, in fact in my living room I have two different kinds hanging from low ceilings and I think they look great. Upstairs my ceilings are even a little bit lower but that doesn't stop me in the least, just so they are not in the way or have them up as high as they can go. I have chandeliers in every room just about. From what I can see I'm sure you will have them looking good in any place you decide. I had a hard time trying to figure out how they will look so I can't really help you with it.
I laugh at your remark wanting people being honest in there opinion, because that is just how I feel with anything I post.... I want honesty not what they think I may want to hear- I can take it too!
Enjoy Your Evening-
I think if they are painted white they will look great. The original gold is a very bright gold if you know what I mean. Personally I think you cant have too many chandeliers and I think they match just fine if they are all the same colour, doesnt matter about the shape so much. The only time I dont like a chandelier is when there are too many different types of crytals on them and they look to fussy ie. murano drops and more
